Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the WePet mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms, please refrain from using our services immediately.

Minimum Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use WePet. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If we become aware that a user under 16 has created an account, we reserve the right to suspend or permanently delete that account without prior notice.

Scope of Service & Platform Role

WePet operates purely as a community board and listing venue for pet adoption notices, lost and found reports, and pet profile management. WePet enables direct messaging between users. WePet does not own, inspect, verify, or hold custody of any listed animals, nor does it act as an agent or broker in any user interaction.

User Registration & Security

Users register via third-party OAuth authentication (Google, and Apple in future releases). You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your profile. Providing false or misleading identification details is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Content & Animal Protection

• Strictly prohibited: Listing, trading, or selling endangered species, illegal wildlife, exotic pets, or animals prohibited under local or international protection regulations.
• Strictly prohibited: Content depicting animal cruelty, abuse, illegal breeding, fighting, or medical exploitation.
• Strictly prohibited: Posting deceptive reports, fraudulent claims, harassment, or unlawful local store advertising without permission.
• WePet reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently ban any account violating these restrictions without prior notice.

Physical QR Tag Feature

WePet provides a feature linking physical pet tags (QR Medallions) to a web profile displaying pet info and owner-provided contact details. The user is solely responsible for choosing which medical details and contact numbers are publicly exposed when the QR code is scanned by third parties.

User Content & Marketing License

By publishing images, descriptions, or pet profiles on WePet, you grant the developer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute such media for platform operation, promotion, and marketing purposes across official channels.

Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

WePet, its developer, and affiliates provide the platform 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We explicitly disclaim all liability regarding: (a) health, behavior, legal status, or medical condition of listed pets; (b) accuracy of user-posted reports or descriptions; (c) external financial transactions or personal meetings between users; (d) loss, injury, or damages arising from physical QR tag usage.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer of WePet, Mohammed A. Younes, from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any rights of a third party, or any content or transaction you engage in through the platform.

Local Store Advertisements

WePet may feature curated advertisements for local pet stores, veterinary clinics, or service providers. WePet does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services offered by these third-party advertisers.

Termination

You may stop using WePet and delete your account at any time through the in-app settings. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your access to WePet, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activities, or if we are required to do so by law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will update the 'lastUpdated' date accordingly. Continued use of WePet after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Libya. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the competent courts of Libya.
